BloxZon is a unique game inspired by multiplatform touch technology. Before touch technology was developed this type of game was not feasible, since the main object of the game is throwing blocks at falling objects by touching the screen. Using a mouse to duplicate this action makes it almost impossible to replicate the full BloxZon experience, which is why a game such as this has not been seen before.
BloxZon was created by Jody Gillies and Robert Adam Leathorn of Electric Manakin Corp. After the base idea was created we each handled different aspects of development. Adam for the programming side, and Jody, myself, took on the concept/design, all of which presented many challenges along the way. Many different graphical drafts were created before choosing the final theme you see today. On the programming side there were many obstacles we had to overcome, such as performance, battery longevity, and smooth game play, just to mention a few.
There are countless plans for the future development of BloxZon and BloxZon inspired gaming with touch technology, so be sure to check back for updates and new releases, including BloxZon LITE and BloxZon Premium!
Adam and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have helped and supported us through many late nights and countless roadblocks over the last several months to turn this game into reality. Sincerely, thank you.
Special Thanks to NASA – nasaimages.org for providing the background images for each stage, as they add a certain feel to the game that would be hard to duplicate without them. Thank you
